Shogun Hibachi and Japanes Steakhouse in Fairbanks

Great place for delicious authentic Japanese food. The chefs are amazing to watch and the staff is really nice. The place is themed with lovely character and style, and you can tell the cooks love their jobs. Delicious food at a decent price is definitely a great place I'd recommend to visit. From just by yourself to the whole family I'd recommend Shogun to eat at if you're visiting Fairbanks Alaska. Also if you want chopsticks make sure to ask for them here.

I would go here about once every two weeks and let me tell you this Hibachi restaurant will not disappoint you! The food was always cooked to perfection, it was always hot and the cooks were so much fun to watch when they would cook all the food in front of you on the Hibachi grill. I have never been able to find another Hibachi restaurant that has the “Yum-Yum” sauce that they serve and I have to say I would do anything in the entire world to have some of that sauce again-it’s delicious. I just loved the friendly atmosphere and service as well every time we went here and the price wasn’t too bad for all the food you get. I miss Shogun’s every single day since I moved away from Alaska. Much love from Colorado!

The last time we went there, it was my family. The chef decided to give us raw broccoli and catch it with our mouth. EVERYONE GOT SICK. They came out with a platter full of raw fish,beef and poultry. That's cross contamination. The rice was burnt due to the fire that was on the grill. I get it's a nice show but he literally burnt the rice. Not worth. I believe that they should ask people if they should do that or not before they make a scene. My little 1 year old was scared to death. It's not very well monitored at all. Hey here's some more fire well take the risk of catching your children on fire! FYI EVERYONE GOT FOODBOURNE ILLNESS WITHIN AN HOUR OF EATING HERE.

Great place to take family and visitors!!! Fresh food cooked rite in front of you and they do have cheaper lumch meals. They also offer military discount!

They have a lot of great menu items and the employees are very nice and know what they're doing. It's nice that they have a lunch special that's pretty much half the price of the dinner plates. The environment is good too.

Very nice restaurant. Lots to eat at one sitting. Hibachi Grill Chef was really nice and a great cut up. Made us all laugh.

This place was underwhelming. The hibachi chef seemed like he didn't want to be there. The salmon was great, the shrimp was decent, and the rice and noodles were adequate. I would only come here once.

First time going went on my Birthday and had the greatest time with my grandkids and kids and the food was delicious

One of the best restaurants in town. Always professional and courteous. Hard to mess up an order when the food is cooked right in front of you.The 'show' part of it can get stale, but the food is exceptional and exactly what it should be.

A great place to take family. Birthdays here are a lot of fun as well. The hibachi chefs display great skills with the blades while also making it fun for families. Try your best to catch all the bits of veggie or shrimp they throw at you.

Excellent food and atmosphere. Asked for steak medium rare and it was well done, otherwise all of it was delicious. Also there were 4 birthdays there when we had dinner. It was a little distracting to our dinner experience.

Great food! Even better chefs who were super friendly! Came with 27 other people and was 15 minutes late. But, they still saved our reservation. So, we were still able to seat everyone. The place was packed even without all of us.

I've ordered from Shogun a truly ludicrous amount of times. I've also been there, in-person, plenty of times.The staff are always super entertaining, and the food is always super yummy. Hibachi is easy to do wrong, and these folks do it right!If you're looking for a healthy-ish option that you can take to-go or order via something like DoorDash, their hibachi dinner menus are great. The noodles are somewhat sweet, and a personal favorite. The generous portions of steamed-ish veggies are awesome, and proteins are covered in exactly as much sauce (and hence, extra delicious unhealthiness) as you choose. Otherwise you're just dealing with chicken/steak/whatever and a reasonable amount of oil. Great post-gym/yoga/whatever eats if you're on that "healthy-ish" diet and willing to spend a little bit.Bonus points for having a delivery option via DoorDash.

This is the best Japanese food I have eaten in a long time. Food will be cooked at the table. The chef's are very entertaining. They sing on your birthday if you like.

Food pretty good. Service isnt to bad, waiters have trouble with comprehending at times.

Great show. The chief dropped the knife only once. Totally understandable since he had only one eye. Depth perception must have been off. Would definitely go again

We ordered our food to go it was about 8 p.m. and there was nobody else and the restaurants we decided to leave and take it to go the where we had was very considerate and attentive. Thai food came out fast it was quite delicious considering my filet mignon was not cooked at asked and scallops were a little too undercooked. Overall good 2nd experience. Would recommend.

Asian restaurant, not really Japanese. Food basics cooked well. Most dishes closer to Chinese or Korean instead of Japanese. Gyoza was Costco potstickers. Restrroms dirty and in disrepair. Prices where super cheap though. No one in our party got sick, and we left full.

Hibachi grill with various choices for meat. The show is entertaining and the food is yummy. Expect a premium price on this delicious food and show. Only one in Fairbanks I know of.

What a fun evening! The table chef was amazingly entertaining. Great balls of fire, spinning eggs, an onion volcano, flying veggie treats, and a truly delicious meal! Our group was thoroughly entertained. For a special event (I am looking at you Birthday Girl!) or an evening out with friends, I highly recommend treating yourself to Shogun Japanese Restaurant. Remember, all the sake you can drink as long as you keep swallowing. Sake! Sake! Sake!

Great little Benihana style hibachi place. Great value during lunch time. Excellent for groups or birthdays. Large portions. I took off one star because the showmanship of the chefs can vary greatly. Most of the chefs put on a great show but occasionally it’s only mediocre.
